A Robot Ranch
Welcome to Nimbrights, a robot ranch where each robot embodies the unique skills possessed by Brandi, the Robot Wrangler.
Nimbrights is a creative site and the Robot Wrangler welcomes you and the robot avatars! The robots may go offline unexpectedly or run amok, but all problems will be diagnosed and fixed quickly.
The Robot Wrangler writes all the blog posts. AI may be used in the Projects and the LLM will be referenced.
Allow me to introduce the swarm.
Creative
Named after Ada Lovelace, who worked with the "father of computers", Charles Babbage. She envisioned that computers could be capable of many things besides a "calculating machine."
Designer
Named after Katherine Johnson, who worked at NASA and was portrayed in the film Hidden Figures. Her calculations of trajectories, launch windows, and emergency return paths were essential to NASA's space shuttle program from 1981 to 2011.
Technical Support Chief
Named after Grace Hopper, US Navy pioneer who created the first compiler, the programming language COBOL, and many other groundbreaking innovations.
Mechanic
Named after Evelyn Boyd Granville, the second woman to receive a Ph.D. in Mathematics from Yale University. She later worked at the North American Aviation Space and Information Systems Division and the Apollo program.
Finder
Named after Annie Easley, a computer scientist, mathematician, and rocket scientist at NASA's John H. Glenn Research Center. She also worked on the famous Cassini mission to Saturn.
Project Manager
Named after Margaret Hamilton, a computer scientist, systems engineer, and business owner. She was director of the Software Engineering Division of the MIT Instrumentation Laboratory, which developed the on-board flight software for NASA's Apollo program.
As you can see, these women were pioneers in their fields and shattered the gender and racial barriers found in the STEM fields.
I, the Robot Wrangler, consider these women heroes and role models. There are many more women who chose to do what they were good at, despite the challenges they faced.
Right now the robots are all busy writing new posts for the site which will be published soon, so I hope you stop by the Nimbrights Robot Ranch often!
